A Message from Our Pastor

Dear People of St. Patrick Parish,

The month of October for Catholics is a very special month, there are many things about our Catholic faith that we recall and recommit to hold special in our lives.

October is Respect Life Month and the theme this year is Christ Our Hope . This year we have seen attacks against human life grow more numerous and callous by the day. Surrounded by hate and lack of respect for human life we must place our Hope and our Words in Jesus Christ, He died for every human life. This month let us pray for our world and an end to abortions, suicides, wars, violence with guns, and disrespect for human-beings.

October is also dedicated to the recitation of the Rosary and asking Mary to help change the violence we experience around us. The Blessed Mother and her prayers joined with ours can make a difference and praying the Rosary this month especially can make a difference. Even if we fall asleep praying it, no prayer goes unheard.

As Catholics we also believe that God gives us a Guardian Angel when we are born, to be at our side and help protect us and help the Holy Spirit keep us on track. Wednesday, October 2nd is the Feast of all the Guardian Angels, let’s pray to them and thank them for loving us. Friday, October 4th is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, a saint that had a special love of all creation and especially the animals that God has graced our world with. We will bless the animals, Sunday, September 29 th at 1:00pm in front of the school. You love your pets and remember that God created them also to give to you.

Oh yes, Halloween is in preparation for all Saints Day, November 1st , a Holy Day of obligation so October 30 is more than candy and scary things.

Let us at St. Patrick Parish make good use of this wonderful month that is full of grace.

God Bless!
