Dear People of St. Patrick Parish,
Today, we celebrate the Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe and it is the last Sunday of the Church Year. Next Sunday, we begin the New Church Year 2026 with the First Sunday of Advent.
As we listen to Paul’s Letter to the Colossians, he is reminding us of who Jesus is. The image of the invisible God who is the creator of all things and God the Father sent Jesus to redeem all people and help lead them to God the Father. This is our Faith.
The Gospel today has the good thief say to Jesus as three men hung on three crosses, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus replied, “today you will be with me in Paradise.”
This is a wonderful lesson for all of us who sin, to see how Jesus is willing to forgive us and let us join God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit forever in Heaven. Do I believe this and want it?
Thursday, November 27 is Thanksgiving Day, and we should go to Mass and thank God First and then celebrate with our families and friends. Mass will be at 9:00am and we invite you to bring some food items or drinks that we can bless and you take with you to your dinner.
This Thanksgiving Day, we have a lot to thank God for, but we also need His blessings in our world today, as we look at so much evil being done even here in America.
God Bless,
Fr. Larry Young
