A Message from Our Pastor

April 27, 2025

Dear People of St. Patrick Parish,

On this Second Sunday of Easter, we think about the people of the time of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection, believing and being baptized and accepting to follow the Lord Jesus in their daily lives. Just as we do today.

We think about the Apostle Thomas doubting about the Risen Jesus and wanting proof that He could touch. Well, when Jesus came to Him and he, Thomas encounter the Risen Jesus, He came to believe and accepted the Risen Lord.

So many Christian today, reject the teachings of Jesus about the Church He founded and even having been baptized into Jesus, they walk away from the real Jesus.

Let us today renew our belief and be willing to help others to come and believe in Jesus and His Church.

This is also Divine Mercy Sunday, when we see Jesus pointing to His Heart and seeing His Love and His mercy to all people being poured out in forgiving when we seek forgiveness for our sins and repent.

For 12 years the Argentine, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known as Pope Francis, has led the Catholic Church as the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church, following in the footsteps of the First Pope, St. Peter and died on April 21st.

Pope Francis truly reflected the love and mercy that Jesus Christ showed when He was on earth. The role of the Pope is to carry on the work of Jesus which has been carried on for over 2,000 years in the Catholic Church.

Today, we pray for the soul of Pope Francis and also give thanks to God for his papacy.

We also pray to the Holy Spirit for the selection of our new Pope. Do not let the movie the Conclave, mislead your thoughts.

God Bless,
Fr. Larry Young
Your Pastor
